Ukel Technologies ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Ukel mobile application and website at ukel.app (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and grade/class provided during registration.
- Usage data: Session duration, topics studied, assessment results, and interaction patterns to personalize your learning experience.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, screen resolution, network type, and browser type. Collected automatically to optimize performance on your device.
- App attribution and advertising measurement data: App installs, app opens, referrer or campaign information, app version, device identifiers such as Advertising ID or app instance identifiers where available, and coarse technical data such as IP-derived location. This helps us understand whether ads and install links are working.
- Audio data: Voice conversations during tutoring sessions are processed in real-time to provide AI responses. Audio is not stored after the session ends.
- Camera/photos: When you use the camera feature to capture notebook pages or doubts, images are processed to understand your work. Images are not stored beyond the active session.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store your device token to send study reminders.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the AI tutoring service
- To personalize your learning path and curriculum progression
- To send study reminders and session notifications (with your consent)
- To analyze usage patterns and improve the service
- To measure ad performance, attribute app installs, and optimize marketing campaigns
- To detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data:
- LiveKit: Real-time voice communication infrastructure
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notification delivery
- Mixpanel: Usage analytics
- Tenjin: Mobile measurement, app install attribution, app open analytics, advertising campaign measurement, and fraud prevention
- Meta: Advertising attribution, app install measurement, campaign optimization, and conversion reporting
- Microsoft Clarity: Session replay and heatmaps
- Sentry: Error monitoring, diagnostic logs, and optional session replay
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We do not intentionally send tutoring transcripts, student answers, voice recordings, or notebook/camera images to Tenjin or Meta for advertising attribution.
Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Session audio and camera images are processed in real-time and not stored after the session ends. Assessment results and curriculum progress are retained to support your learning journey. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure session tokens (HttpOnly cookies), and CSRF protection. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is designed for students preparing for JEE and similar examinations, typically aged 15-18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings
